Eduardo Paes jokes about seeking employment after Rio de Janeiro election defeat

Following his defeat in the race for the governorship of Rio de Janeiro, former Rio de Janeiro mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD) used social media to joke about being available for new professional opportunities. In a post shared on Friday, Paes maintained the country-style aesthetic used during his campaign, featuring a photo of his footwear collection.

Paes noted that while the agricultural interior of the state did not elect him governor, he remains connected to that culture through his style. He clarified that his post was not an advertisement for a specific brand, stating, “If you want to hire me, I am looking for work.”

The election landscape changed after the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) annulled the votes of Anthony Garotinho (Republicanos), which resulted in Douglas Ruas (PL) being elected governor without a second-round runoff. As the next scheduled vote for president approaches, Paes expressed his continued affection for the state of Rio de Janeiro.
