Eduardo Paes proposes flight expansion in Cabo Frio
Eduardo Paes, a candidate for the Governor of Rio de Janeiro representing the PSD, has proposed expanding regular flight services at the Cabo Frio Airport to bolster tourism in the Região dos Lagos. Paes aims to connect the airport with Santos Dumont and Galeão airports, intending to apply the management model used at Galeão to transform Cabo Frio into one of the busiest terminals in the country.
In addition to aviation infrastructure, Paes pledged to increase police presence in the region and recreate the State Secretariat of Public Security. He also expressed a commitment to reducing political influence within the Civil and Military police forces. To further support the local economy, he proposed assisting municipal governments in creating a new calendar of events to attract visitors year-round.
