Eduardo Rojas Piña celebrates 106th birthday in Licantén
Eduardo Rojas Piña, known affectionately as ‘Lalito’, celebrated his 106th birthday at the Wenuiwen Long-Term Care Establishment (ELEAM) in Licantén, Chile. The celebration included regional authorities, staff, and fellow residents.
Born in Rauco in 1920, Rojas Piña spent much of his life engaged in agricultural work and livestock farming. His life story is noted for its resilience; after becoming a widower at age 25, he raised his only son, ‘el Yayo’, through hard work and dedication.
Regional officials, including the Seremi of Social Development and Family, Pablo Olivares, and the regional coordinator of SENAMA Maule, Camilo Escanilla, attended the event. They highlighted the importance of supporting the elderly and recognizing the life experiences of seniors who have contributed significantly to their communities.
