Education-Bir-Sen starts psychotherapy training for school counselors

Education-Bir-Sen, in partnership with Ibn Haldun University, has launched the "Psychotherapy Schools for Guidance Teachers" program to strengthen psychosocial support in Turkish schools. The free online courses, beginning on 11 August 2026 via the EBS Academy platform, cover four evidence‑based approaches – Cognitive‑Behavioural Therapy, Eye‑Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Schema Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.

The training will be delivered by academics from Boğaziçi University, Ibn Haldun University and Istanbul Medeniyet University, enabling guidance teachers to detect early risk factors such as bullying, school violence, anger‑control issues, trauma, exam anxiety, family problems, absenteeism, digital addiction and other behavioural concerns, and to refer students to appropriate services. Participants who complete the program will receive an e‑Devlet‑approved certificate.
