Educational aid programs support students in Spain and Mexico

Educational support initiatives are assisting families with back-to-school costs in Spain and Mexico.

In Ciudad Rodrigo, Spain, approximately 500 students are utilizing the RELEO program. Managed by the Junta de Castilla y León, the initiative focuses on the reuse and loan of textbooks to mitigate high costs, which can reach 250 euros per student. The RELEO PLUS system provides economic aid based on family income, offering 280 euros for Primary Education and 350 euros for Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) from 3rd grade Primary through 4th ESO.

In Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, the Escuelatón program distributed 1,300 school kits to students across five primary schools. The initiative, supported by the municipal Secretariat of Social Welfare, collected 23,000 items through donations from citizens, businesses, and civil organizations. Each kit included a backpack and various school supplies to help families manage the expenses of the new school year.
