Educational and cultural exchange initiatives held in Sicily

Various educational and cultural exchange programs recently took place in Sicily, focusing on art, inclusion, and international cooperation.

In Monreale, children from the Montessori school of Foligno participated in a mosaic workshop led by Ceramiche di Bisanzio to explore Arab-Norman traditions. Additionally, in Roccamena, Form Arte APS conducted mosaic workshops aimed at fostering community cooperation and listening skills.

In Furnari, the youth association “The Cave” hosted an Erasmus+ training course titled “Participatory Arts for Youth Work.” The seven-day program involved 24 youth workers from eight countries—including Poland, Spain, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, North Macedonia, and Italy—focusing on using visual, corporal, and digital arts to promote social inclusion and non-formal learning.

Furthermore, the “Francesca Morvillo” comprehensive institute in Monreale hosted two teachers from Lithuania for a job shadowing experience. This initiative facilitated professional growth and intercultural dialogue, supporting the school's efforts toward European internationalization and inclusive teaching practices.
