Educational and environmental awards recognized in Portugal

Educational and environmental recognition programs are being highlighted in Portugal. The University of Porto has opened applications for the 2026/2027 Innovative Pedagogical Practice Award (PPI). This initiative aims to recognize faculty and teams that implement transformative teaching and learning methods. Prizes ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 euros will be awarded to the top candidates to foster a culture of innovation in higher education.

In a separate environmental achievement, ten schools from the Anadia municipality were awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag for 2025/2026. The awards, organized by the Association Blue Flag for Environment and Education (ABAAE), recognize school-based actions focused on environmental awareness and sustainable practices. Additionally, the Anadia Basic and Secondary School received an Honorable Mention for its “Illustrate to Reforest” project, which promotes environmental preservation and sustainable product use.
