Educational initiatives and donations in Greece

In Greece, the University of Macedonia has donated 10 computer systems, including all necessary peripheral equipment, to the 5th Gymnasium of Thessaloniki. The donation, provided by the Department of Applied Informatics, aims to address shortages in modern computing resources and improve teaching conditions for informatics classes.

The administration and teaching staff of the Gymnasium expressed their gratitude, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between secondary and tertiary public education to promote knowledge and critical thinking.

Separately, a commemorative volume titled ‘Hellenic Diaspora. Studies in Honour of Michael Damanakis’ is being published to honor Professor Michael Damanakis of the University of Crete. The publication includes a letter from Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia and Mozambique, who praised Damanakis as a ‘patriarch of Greek-language education for the Diaspora’ and a guide in intercultural education.
