Educational initiatives engage Croatian students in STEM and entrepreneurship
Students in Croatia are engaging in diverse educational initiatives ranging from STEM research to entrepreneurship development.
At Bedekovčina Primary School, students participated in a year-long STEM project titled ‘Apple – More Than Fruit’. The project involved scientific observations of apple trees and fruit, experiments regarding buoyancy and juice preservation, and learning about pasteurization in collaboration with Bedekovčina Secondary School. The findings were compiled into two student magazines covering both scientific research and creative works such as poetry and art.
In Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Development Agency (DURA), supported by the City of Dubrovnik, is conducting the fourth annual ‘Entrepreneurship in Primary School’ project. The program encourages students to develop business ideas using the Business Model Canvas methodology. Through workshops and mentoring, students learn to transform initial concepts into structured business models, focusing on problem-solving and value creation.
