Educational initiatives focus on inclusion in Colombia and Spain

Educational institutions and regional authorities are advancing initiatives focused on inclusive and diverse learning environments.

In Colombia, Universidad de La Salle conducted the III Conversatorio de Educación Superior Inclusiva y Diversa. The event addressed institutional transformations necessary to ensure effective access, participation, and graduation for diverse student populations. Key topics included Universal Design for Learning, neurodiversity in university contexts, and support models for women survivors of armed conflict.

In Spain, the Consejería de Educación is organizing a symposium titled ‘Comprender para acompañar: estrategias para una respuesta educativa inclusiva’ on October 7 and 8. Held in Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the event aims to provide professionals with strategies to better support students with diverse needs, including those with autism, by focusing on understanding student characteristics before intervening.
