Educational initiatives focus on memory in Argentina and climate change in Peru
The 3rd National Educational Congress concluded in Mercedes, Argentina, drawing over 2,100 participants. Held under the theme ‘Pedagogies of Memory: educating in times of presence, technology, and democracy,’ the event included teachers, administrators, and staff from all educational levels. The congress utilized various local venues, including the La Trocha Cultural Complex and several schools, to host workshops, debates, and artistic expressions.
In Lima, Peru, 30 educators completed a diploma program in climate change education. This initiative was a collaboration between the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, the Peruvian Cayetano Heredia University, and the Siemens Stiftung Foundation. Part of the MICA project, the 10-week program aimed to train teachers to adapt climate change resources to their specific local socio-environmental contexts. The broader MICA project seeks to train 120 tutors across four Latin American countries.
