Educational initiatives focus on student support and retention in Romania and Moldova
The University of Bucharest has launched new initiatives to support first-year students with disabilities and special educational needs. Through a meeting held at the Rectorate, the university aims to facilitate academic integration by providing information on institutional resources, counseling services, and academic development opportunities. The initiative involves various administrative structures and volunteer networks to foster an inclusive educational environment.
In Moldova, the Ministry of Education and Research reports an 11 percent increase in student enrollment over the last two years. This trend is attributed to the “Learn in Moldova” national program, which seeks to highlight domestic study opportunities. Efforts to retain students include investments in university infrastructure, laboratories, and campuses, alongside the development of new study programs. Additionally, academic cooperation with Romania remains significant, with approximately 12,000 Moldovan students studying in Romanian universities and over 100 joint research projects currently active.
