Educational initiatives in Poland focus on youth food literacy

Various educational programs in Poland are targeting food literacy and practical culinary skills among youth. The Lubella Academy has launched its 2026/2027 edition, titled ‘Smaki Samodzielności’ (Flavors of Independence), designed for students in grades VI–VIII of primary school. The program aims to bridge the gap between nutritional knowledge and practical application, addressing data showing that while youth may possess theoretical knowledge, their actual nutritional practices often lag behind.

In a separate initiative, the Green REV Institute has released the fourth issue of ‘Nowa Bezpieczna Żywność’ (New Safe Food), a magazine co-created by young people from Katowice and Mikołów as part of the ‘Food Literacy 2.0’ project. This project uses workshops and collaborative cooking to explore the connections between food, identity, power, and global dependencies. The magazine features student-led analyses on topics ranging from social media nutritional content to the cultural relationships between humans and animals.
