Educational initiatives launch to support parenting and child development
The University of Talca is launching the ‘Escuela para Familias’ (School for Families), a series of ten free workshops designed to support child development and parenting. Running from October 3 to December 12, the sessions are aimed at parents and caregivers, with children aged 5 to 12 welcome to attend. Topics include autism inclusion, language stimulation, emotional regulation, first aid, nutrition, and the impact of screen use.
In Spain, the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena is hosting its ‘III Jornadas de Lactancia Materna’ (III Breastfeeding Conferences). The event focuses on providing practical support for breastfeeding mothers and training for healthcare professionals. The program includes practical workshops for families and a clinical ‘escape room’ designed to help medical staff manage high-stress situations that might otherwise lead to the premature cessation of breastfeeding. The initiative is supported by the Initiative for the Humanization of Birth Assistance and Breastfeeding (IHAN).
