Educational initiatives launched in Cañada Morelos and Oaxaca

In Cañada Morelos, Puebla, the municipal government has distributed over 32,000 free textbooks for the current school year. The distribution targeted various levels of basic education, with primary schools receiving the largest share of 17,448 books, followed by telesecundarias (7,367), preschool (4,494), and general and technical secondary schools (3,143).

In Oaxaca, Governor Salomón Jara Cruz led a reading promotion event with approximately 100 high school students. The group discussed “La Estela de Tlatelolco,” a historical chronicle of the 1968 student movement written by Raúl Álvarez Garín. The initiative aims to foster reading habits and critical thinking among younger generations while connecting them to Mexico's historical struggles for education.
