Educational initiatives launched in Nicaragua and Mexico
In Nicaragua, the Ministry of Education (MINED) held a National Photography Contest aimed at promoting integral student development. The initiative involved over 20,000 students nationwide, focusing on themes such as peace, coexistence, environmental care, and adolescent pregnancy prevention. Education Minister Mendy Arauz noted that the event serves as a platform for dialogue among educational communities to strengthen safety and well-being within schools.
In Mexico, the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) signed a Letter of Intent with UNESCO to promote safe digital technology use in schools. Led by Mario Delgado Carrillo, the partnership aims to provide technical assistance and develop public policies regarding mobile devices, social media, and artificial intelligence. The collaboration seeks to ensure that technology serves humanistic and critical thinking goals while protecting students from the risks associated with digital dependency.
