Educational initiatives promote healthy technology use among children
Educational and health initiatives in Argentina and Uruguay are focusing on the impact of technology on children. In Las Lomitas, Argentina, professionals from the District Hospital—including specialists in pediatrics, psychology, and social work—conducted workshops for 6th-grade students at EPEP Nº531. The program aimed to raise awareness regarding the physical and emotional consequences of excessive screen time and encouraged responsible digital habits.
In Uruguay, two projects from the Paula Domínguez de Bazán Early Childhood School (ENI Nº19) were selected for the provincial stage of the 2026 Science Fair. One project, developed by 4-year-olds, focuses on emotional regulation and sensory management through musical and tactile resources. The second project, involving 5-year-olds, titled ‘Ojitos curiosos, pantallas en pausa’, uses storytelling and games to encourage children to balance digital device use with physical activity, reading, and social interaction.
