Educational initiatives promote reading habits in Mexico and Argentina

Various educational initiatives are being implemented to promote reading habits among youth in Mexico and Argentina.

In Mexico, Governor Salomón Jara Cruz led a monthly reading session at the Government Palace, involving 100 students from several secondary and high schools. The group read ‘Fragmentos históricos’ by Pedro Salmerón Sanginés. The initiative, part of the Reading Promotion Program, aims to use brief texts to connect younger generations with Mexican history and foster critical thinking.

In Argentina, the Colegio San Gabriel organized an intergenerational reading event titled ‘Historias que abrazan’ (Stories that Hug). As part of preparations for an upcoming Reading Marathon, fourth-grade students met with their grandparents, who shared childhood stories, memories, and traditional tales to strengthen the bond between students and literature.
