Educational institutions celebrate linguistic diversity in France and Belgium

Educational institutions in France and Belgium are hosting various events to celebrate linguistic diversity and the European Day of Languages.

In France, the INSPE Toulouse Occitanie-Pyrénées participated in the 11th edition of the Languages Week organized by the Ministry of National Education and Youth. Under the theme ‘Languages to understand the world’, the initiative included linguistic and cultural projects such as intercultural encounters, scientific projects, and artistic creations across several sites, including Albi, Auch, Cahors, Foix, Montauban, Rodez, Tarbes, and multiple locations in Toulouse.

At the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium, the ULB Langues department organized a week of activities from September 21 to September 25, 2026. The program featured workshops for Arabic, Chinese, and Japanese, a multilingual open mic session, English CV coaching, and a conference regarding the Ainu of Japan. Other activities included a book swap and tandem language exchange sessions.
