Educational institutions in Guatemala and Mexico launch new student programs

The Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) has opened applications for its Aerospace Academy. This vacation course is designed for high school students interested in space technology and nanosatellite design, specifically CubeSat types. Inspired by the QUETZAL-1 and QUETZAL-2 satellite projects, the program offers 20 full scholarships covering all costs and materials. Interested students must apply by September 6, 2026, followed by a selection process involving profile evaluation, a motivation essay, and interviews.

In Mexico, the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) has launched the call for the fourth edition of ‘Rugido UdeG’, an arts competition for high school and university students. The 2026 edition introduces a new ‘Rugido Teatro’ category, which includes various performing arts such as musical theater and clowning. Participants can enter individually or in groups of up to 12. Registration is free and open for 15 days via the university's portal.
