Educational milestones reached in Chile and Guatemala
The Campus Nacimiento CMPC Duoc UC in Chile has surpassed 200 graduates in its first four years of operation. In its most recent graduation ceremony, 95 students completed programs in various technical-professional specialties, including health, informatics, administration, and engineering. A notable component of the campus is its Dual Training model, which integrates academic learning with practical experience at CMPC industrial facilities for students in electricity, automation, and industrial maintenance.
In Guatemala, the Ministry of Education has announced five new teaching careers set to begin in 2027. Minister Anabella Giracca stated that these programs aim to improve educational quality and address challenges identified in PISA testing. The new specialties include Intercultural Bilingual Education (for both initial and primary levels), Physical Education, Music, and Visual and Plastic Arts. The training program will span four years, combining general pedagogical preparation with specialized practical experience in schools.
