Educational nature programs engage students in Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca

Students in the Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca regions of Romania have participated in various environmental and outdoor education initiatives. In Sibiu County, the ‘Adventure with the Class’ program, part of the ‘Years of Hiking’ series, provided 1,000 preschoolers and students with free educational hikes throughout October. Supported by the Sibiu County Council, the program included 40 outings where participants aged 5 to 18 learned about flora, fauna, tourist orientation, and first aid.

In Cluj-Napoca, the ‘Liviu Rebreanu’ Gymnasium School held a ‘Green Week’ focused on environmental responsibility and community involvement. Students engaged in activities such as planting trees, learning about battery recycling, and exploring ecosystems in the Apuseni Mountains. The initiative also emphasized social solidarity through volunteer work with the ‘A Warm Meal’ Association and promoted circular economy principles through a book and toy exchange.
