Educational preparations and administrative shifts occur in Venezuela and Mexico
In Venezuela, Minister of Education Héctor Rodríguez has launched the National Teacher Training Plan to prepare for the 2026-2027 school year. The initiative involves three days of videoconferenced lectures and debates for educators nationwide. The curriculum this year includes seismic awareness, socio-emotional support, and protocols for unforeseen situations to ensure quality education for students returning on September 14.
In Mexico, the Secretariat of Education and Sport (SEyD) offices in Chihuahua have been vacated following an agreement with teacher unionists who had occupied the building since last Monday. The resolution of the occupation is expected to expedite the assignment of approximately 80 missing teachers to schools in the Northern Zone, specifically in Ciudad Juárez. This shortage has prevented students at several institutions from beginning their academic year, which officially started on August 31.
