Educational programs launch in Linares and Jerez

The University of Jaén has commenced its Aula Abierta program across six locations, including Linares, Alcalá La Real, Andújar, Martos, and Úbeda. Designed for individuals over 55, the initiative provides access to scientific knowledge and active learning to foster personal, intellectual, and social development. The program also aims to improve digital literacy by teaching basic information and communication technology skills.

In Jerez, the Diocese of Asidonia-Jerez has launched the 'Del Aula al Claustro' educational initiative. This program opens the Monastery of Santa María de la Defensión to school communities throughout the province. The curriculum is tailored to different educational levels: primary students focus on local history and monastic life, while secondary and high school students study historical-artistic analysis, including Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles, as well as the works of masters such as Zurbarán and Martínez Montañés.
