Educational studies examine literacy strategies in Peru and Ecuador

Recent educational research in Peru and Ecuador highlights the impact of specific pedagogical tools on student literacy and text production.

In Ayacucho, Peru, a study conducted at the I. E. Mariscal Cáceres school examined the influence of written press strategies on sixth-grade primary students. The quasi-experimental study found that using written press strategies significantly improved text production. Specifically, 56.8% of students achieved a distinguished level of achievement in areas such as textual organization, language convention usage, and communicative adequacy.

In Santa Elena, Ecuador, research at the Otto Arosemena Gómez school investigated how Ecuadorian children's literature affects the reading and writing motivation of seventh-grade students. The study concluded that local literature positively influences motivation by sparking curiosity and interest, which strengthens reading comprehension and creative writing. However, the research also noted challenges, including a lack of school libraries and limited familiarity with Ecuadorian authors among students.
