African communities launch educational support initiatives

Various community and government initiatives across several African nations are focusing on education and social support for vulnerable populations ahead of the new school year.

In Chad, the Ministry of Social Action provided 250 orphans at the Fondation Dieu Bénit in N’Djaména with school kits, clothing, medicine, and household items like blankets and mosquito nets. Minister Zara Mahamat Issa emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring children have the dignity and resources needed for education.

In Gabon, officials in the Dola department distributed 2,500 school kits to primary and pre-primary students in Ndendé to alleviate the financial burden on families. This initiative, supported by local leaders and the UDB, aims to promote regional development through education.

In Côte d’Ivoire, the municipality of Tanda invested 20 million FCFA to provide 500 school kits and 313 educational sponsorships to students, particularly those from rural areas. Meanwhile, in Guinea, the organization Les Framboises Créatives organized a distribution of school supplies for vulnerable children in Conakry.

In Togo, the Boulo community in the Tchaoudjo region held an awareness campaign regarding the importance of literacy to foster social inclusion and poverty reduction, marking the International Literacy Day celebrations.
