Educational theater event engages 130 children in Diamantino, Brazil

On Tuesday, 5 August, the Municipality of Diamantino held an educational theater performance of the play “Chapeuzinho Vermelho – Cooperar para Crescer” (Little Red Riding Hood – Cooperate to Grow) at the Escola Municipal de Tempo Integral Brás Maimoni. More than 130 children attended, learning values such as cooperation, solidarity, respect and teamwork.

The event was organized by the municipal Secretariat of Education in partnership with the cooperative bank Sicredi Ouro Verde Mato Grosso/Pará and the Sistema Organização das Cooperativas Brasileiras no Estado de Mato Grosso (OCB/MT). Municipal Education Secretary Valéria Neves thanked the partners, noting the importance of bringing culture and learning together beyond the classroom. Sicredi’s cooperation and sustainability adviser Karoline Martelli highlighted the initiative as a way to introduce cooperative principles to children through theater.
