Edward Said: Between Worlds documentary profiles scholar's life

The documentary ‘Edward Said: Between Worlds,’ directed by Maiken Baird, profiles the life and intellectual legacy of the late Palestinian American scholar Edward Said. The film utilizes archival footage and recordings of Said’s various speeches to allow the scholar to speak in his own words, rather than relying on external commentators.

The documentary explores Said’s personal experiences with displacement and his transition to life in America, while simultaneously chronicling his sociopolitical impact. It highlights his efforts to challenge global power structures and his foundational writings, such as ‘Orientalism,’ which remains a significant text for understanding global dynamics.
