Edwin Díaz emerges as Dodgers closer for postseason

Edwin Díaz has emerged as a primary closer for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the National League Division Series. After a challenging regular season marked by an 8.68 ERA and injury stints, Díaz returned from the injured list in late September to post five scoreless outings.

Following his return, Díaz recorded saves in Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS, helping secure the Dodgers' advancement to the National League Championship Series. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expressed confidence in Díaz’s performance, noting that the pitcher has proven his capability in high-pressure ninth-inning situations.

The Dodgers are now preparing to face the Milwaukee Brewers in the Championship Series. While the team possesses other relief options such as Tanner Scott and Evan Phillips, Díaz’s recent form has stabilized the bullpen for the remainder of the postseason.
