Edwin Diaz nears return to Los Angeles Dodgers

Edwin Diaz, the closer for the Los Angeles Dodgers, is nearing a return from the injured list. Diaz was placed on the IL in mid-August due to neck inflammation, following a previous recovery from right elbow surgery in April.

Reports indicate Diaz completed a one-inning live session at Dodger Stadium. While he is eligible to be removed from the injured list as early as Wednesday, the team plans to utilize a gradual reintegration process. Manager Dave Roberts stated that Diaz will not immediately reclaim the closer role; instead, Tanner Scott will handle the ninth inning while Diaz is used in lower-leverage situations to build momentum.
