Eelco Heinen expresses optimism over Dutch budget negotiations

Dutch Finance Minister Eelco Heinen has expressed optimism regarding ongoing budget negotiations. Following a meeting with Gidi Markuszower of Groep Markuszower, Heinen stated that there is broad support for the plans currently being developed, though he declined to disclose specific details of the discussions.

Prime Minister Rob Jetten previously indicated that the government's upcoming proposal includes significant steps intended to build consensus across the political spectrum. While Markuszower described the meeting as pleasant, he noted that there remains room for adjustments and emphasized that his focus extends beyond mere figures to the security of Dutch citizens.

Further discussions are scheduled with political groups including PRO and JA21. The cabinet is expected to announce its new proposal following these consultations.
