Eemvallei recognized as premier meadow bird area in the Netherlands
Niek van ’t Klooster, a coordinator for Natuurmonumenten, describes the Eemvallei as one of the most beautiful meadow bird areas in the Netherlands. Since April 2022, he has been responsible for managing approximately 700 hectares of nature in the region.
His management duties include overseeing Landgoed Coelhorst and the meadows along the Vogelboulevard in Hoogland. Van ’t Klooster, who grew up in the Eempolder, manages these areas to support local wildlife, including birds and hares.
