EEOC Files Disability Discrimination Lawsuits Against Paycom and FedEx

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission brought a federal suit against Paycom Payroll, LLC, alleging the Oklahoma‑based payroll software firm failed to provide reasonable accommodations for an employee with a life‑threatening food allergy and terminated her after multiple anaphylactic incidents. The complaint says Paycom offered only limited workspace changes, did not warn coworkers about the allergen, and refused remote work, violating the Americans with Disabilities Act.

In a separate action, the EEOC sued Federal Express Corporation (FedEx Ground) in North Carolina, charging the company with refusing reasonable accommodations for blind package handlers at its Kernersville facility and for inadequate record‑keeping. The suit represents four individuals and a class of similarly situated employees, asserting violations of the ADA. Both lawsuits were filed in U.S. district courts after the agency’s pre‑litigation conciliation efforts failed.
