Eesti Energia adopts new strategy to add 350 MW of controllable capacity
Eesti Energia has approved a new corporate strategy extending to 2030 and beyond, aimed at ensuring secure and competitive energy supplies. A key component of this plan is the addition of up to 350 megawatts of controllable production capacity, which may include gas-fired power plants.
Following a significant period of large-scale investment in renewable energy assets across the region, the group is now shifting its focus toward improving the profitability and investment capacity of its existing business. The strategy emphasizes managing assets and customer portfolios more holistically, increasing cost-efficiency, and directing capital toward projects that offer long-term value to customers and Estonian energy security.
According to Andrus Durejko, new investments must be economically viable, with profitability guaranteed through appropriate measures where necessary. The company aims to remain financially strong and flexible to navigate evolving market, technological, and regulatory environments.
