Eesti Laul 2027 opens song submissions for Eurovision selection

Estonian national broadcaster ERR has officially opened the submission period for Eesti Laul 2027, the national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest. Submissions are being accepted until midday on October 8.

The competition will culminate in a final featuring 12 songs on January 30 at the Unibet Arena. The winner will be determined through a two-round process: an initial round involving a combination of jury and televoting to select three finalists, followed by a superfinal decided solely by public televote.

New regulations have been introduced to align with European Broadcasting Union requirements, including a minimum age of 18 for participants. Notably, for the first time, song authors will have the option to decide whether they wish to proceed to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest. Producer Riin Vann emphasized the importance of artists considering the scale of a large-scale production when preparing their entries.
