EFCC Chairman highlights conversion of seized assets into federal universities

Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has highlighted the conversion of assets seized from criminal activities into public institutions. He noted that the former NOK University in Kachia, Kaduna State, has been transformed into the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK) following its forfeiture to the Federal Government. In December 2025, 1,909 students matriculated at the institution.

Olukoyede also mentioned the recent forfeiture of another high-value private university in Kebbi State, which included both temporary and permanent sites. While he did not explicitly name the institution, his description aligns with the forfeiture of Rayhaan University.

In a separate address to students from Wisdom Academy in Abuja, Olukoyede urged Nigerian youths to reject criminal shortcuts, such as internet fraud and financial infractions. He emphasized that building a sustainable future requires integrity, hard work, and the wisdom to navigate and combat corruption.
