EFE Trenes de Chile modernizes services with Siemens Mobility technology

EFE Trenes de Chile has modernized its long-distance services through the implementation of S3 Passenger, a digital platform developed by Sqills, a subsidiary of Siemens Mobility. The deployment, which began operating on July 22, marks the first use of this technology in South America and was completed within a six-month period.

The platform utilizes artificial intelligence to enable dynamic fare management, inventory control, and streamlined reservations. Passengers can now enjoy greater autonomy by managing their own bookings, selecting specific seats, adding extra luggage, traveling with pets, or purchasing food and category upgrades. The system also facilitates managing connecting trips through a single purchase.

Beyond passenger convenience, the digitalization aims to reduce manual processes at stations, allowing staff to focus more on direct user assistance. The platform also includes accessibility features designed for passengers using wheelchairs or those with specific needs to ensure safer and more comfortable travel.
