Efectibank appoints former Alicorp CEO Álvaro Correa as board chairman
Banco Efectiva, now operating as Banco Efectiva (Efectibank), announced that its universal meeting on 13 July approved Álvaro Correa Malachowski as the new president of the board of directors for the 2025‑2028 term, replacing Manuel Emilio Tudela Gubbins. Tudela will remain a titular director. The board also confirmed new appointments, including Leonel Esteban Henríquez Cartagena as a titular director and Alba Fiorella San Martín Piaggio as a substitute director.
Correa, an industrial engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú with an MBA from Harvard Business School, brings extensive experience from senior roles at Credicorp, BCP, Pacífico Seguros, Atlantic Security Bank and as former CEO of Alicorp. His appointment follows the recent approval by Peru’s Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP for Financiera Efectiva to become a fully licensed commercial bank under the name Efectibank. The bank has expanded its product suite to include credit cards, vehicle loans, dollar‑denominated accounts and the Juntoz marketplace, targeting two million clients by 2028.
