EFET recalls Christodoulou Family fruit juices due to mold

The Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) has ordered the immediate recall of several batches of fruit juices produced by VITOM ABEE, based in Koufalia, Thessaloniki. The decision follows a consumer complaint and subsequent inspections by the Regional Directorate of East Macedonia and Thrace, which revealed the presence of black mold growth inside the bottle necks.

The recall affects products under the commercial name ‘Christodoulou Family’ (Οικογένεια Χριστοδούλου). The affected items include 100% natural orange juice, ‘9 Fruits 7 Vitamins’ blends, and apple-orange-carrot juices in various plastic bottle sizes (250ml, 1L, and 1.5L). Specific LOT numbers and expiration dates through September 2026 are involved.

EFET has instructed the company to withdraw all affected batches from the market and is conducting ongoing inspections. Consumers who have already purchased these specific products are strongly advised not to consume them to avoid potential health risks.
