Effiduase-Asokore MP Dr Afriyie urges religious leaders to inspire Ghana youth

Dr Ayew Afriyie, the Member of Parliament for the Effiduase‑Asokore constituency in Ghana's Ashanti Region, called for genuine and faithful men of God to empower young people with hope, purpose and direction through the Word of God. He made the remarks at the Kumasi edition of “Invasion 2026”, an event organised by Prophet Benjamin Fordjour Ministries at the PENSA Auditorium in Ayeduase, Oforikrom Municipality. The programme, themed “Faith” and anchored on Hebrews 11:1, attracted hundreds of believers, with youth making up roughly 80 % of the audience. Afriyie warned that a growing sense of hopelessness among Ghanaian youth is being fueled by negative narratives, and urged religious leaders, parents and policymakers to collaborate in mentoring young people, steering them away from despair, drug abuse and other social vices. He praised Prophet Fordjour for consistently promoting spiritual renewal and national transformation.
