EFL criticizes UEFA over scheduling conflicts affecting Carabao Cup
The English Football League (EFL) has criticized UEFA for failing to harmonize match schedules, leading to significant disruptions in domestic fixtures. These scheduling conflicts have forced changes to several key matches, including the Carabao Cup fixture between Liverpool and Tottenham.
Liverpool faces a congested schedule as it attempts to balance Champions League commitments, such as their match against Atletico Madrid, with domestic cup obligations. Other clubs, including Everton, have also been affected, with their Carabao Cup match against Wolves being postponed.
UEFA has defended its position, stating that it continues to attempt to accommodate the scheduling requests of various associations and leagues, but noted that adjusting an already dense calendar is not always feasible.
