EFL launches Together Against Racism campaign

The English Football League (EFL) is conducting its ‘Together Against Racism’ campaign from October 16 to 26. The initiative involves all 72 EFL clubs in an effort to challenge racism within football, online, and local communities.

Participating clubs, including Bristol City FC and Barnet FC, are using dedicated matchdays to reinforce the message that discrimination has no place in the sport. A primary objective of the campaign is to encourage supporters to report racist incidents immediately to club security, stewards, or via official club channels.

EFL data from the previous season indicates that reporting incidents live is highly effective for enforcement. Approximately 63% of live racism incidents reported directly to clubs resulted in individuals being identified and action being taken. Furthermore, nearly 90% of successful identifications last season originated from incidents reported directly to clubs on matchday, making real-time reporting twice as likely to result in an offender ID compared to post-match reports.
