Eforie, Romania sees surge of tourists and a new boutique hotel opening

During the recent weekend, the Black Sea resort of Eforie Nord attracted roughly 180,000 visitors, with about 50,000 staying overnight. Hotel occupancy exceeded 70%, and sea temperatures hovered between 23‑24 °C, making the area a favorite for families. Accommodation rates ranged from 120 lei per night for two‑star hotels to up to 850 lei for four‑star all‑inclusive stays, while numerous cafés and restaurants catered to varied budgets.

At the nearby Eforie Sud, a nearly 100‑year‑old interwar villa—formerly known as Vila Carlos and Vila Mira Mare—has been restored after a €1 million investment. Owner Daniel Farapon transformed the historic building into a boutique hotel featuring a pool, modern rooms, an à‑la‑carte restaurant, and Mediterranean‑style décor, preserving its original elegance while offering contemporary amenities.
