Efraín Juárez addresses departure from Pumas UNAM

Efraín Juárez has broken his silence regarding his departure from the Mexican football club Pumas UNAM. Speaking in an interview with David Faitelson, the former player and coach addressed the circumstances surrounding his exit following the team's Clausura 2026 runner-up finish.

Juárez indicated that the responsibility for the lack of a contract renewal lies with the club's management, specifically pointing to sports vice president Antonio Sancho. He noted that while he felt he fulfilled his promise to reconnect the fans with the team, differences regarding squad construction for the upcoming season led to his resignation.

Currently coaching Győri ETO in Hungary, Juárez expressed that he remains satisfied with his tenure at Pumas, having led the team through 59 matches. He also touched upon his future, stating he is focused on his European career but would not rule out future opportunities with the Mexican National Team.
