Efraín Juárez leads ETO FC to top three in Hungarian league

Mexican manager Efraín Juárez is seeing success in Hungary with ETO FC following his departure from Pumas UNAM. Since taking over the club in July 2026, Juárez has led the team through a period of domestic resurgence and challenging international campaigns.

In the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, Juárez has managed 10 matches, securing 5 wins, 3 draws, and 2 losses. This performance has placed ETO FC in third place, just one point behind the leader, Puskás Akadémia FC. The club also recently secured a 1-5 victory against Karcag in the Magyar Kupa.

Juárez's tenure has included high-stakes European competition. While ETO FC was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League preliminary round by Víkingur Reykjavík (2-3 on aggregate), they found success in the UEFA Conference League preliminary rounds by defeating FC Atert Bissen 7-3 on aggregate. However, their European campaign ended after a 1-2 aggregate loss to Latvia's Riga FC in the third round.
