Efraín Juárez leads Győri ETO to second in Hungarian League

Efraín Juárez Győri ETO Hungarian League football manager Puskas Academy

Mexican manager Efraín Juárez has led Győri ETO to second place in the Hungarian League after eight matchdays. The team has accumulated 15 points through four wins, three draws, and one loss, scoring 16 goals and conceding 10.

This domestic success follows a challenging start in European competitions, where Győri ETO was eliminated from the Champions League by Iceland's Vikingur Reykjavik and subsequently knocked out of the Conference League by Latvia's Riga after defeating Luxembourg's Atert Bissen.

Győri ETO currently sits just behind league leaders Puskas Academy on points, but trails due to tie-breaking criteria regarding total wins. The two teams are scheduled to face each other on October 11, 2026, in a match that could determine the league leader.
