Eftal Gülbudak, prominent Turkish theatre artist, dies at 66

Renowned Turkish theatre artist Eftal Gülbudak has passed away at the age of 66. His death was confirmed through statements by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) City Theatres and the Film-San Foundation.

Born in Kahramanmaraş in 1960, Gülbudak was a versatile figure in the arts, working as an actor, choreographer, director, and playwright. He graduated from Marmara University's Sports Academy in 1982 and began his significant tenure with the IBB City Theatres in 1997.

Throughout his career, he participated in numerous acclaimed productions, including ‘Lüküs Hayat’, ‘Evita’, ‘Çalıkuşu’, and ‘Tartuffe’. Beyond the stage, he contributed to various television and cinema projects. His funeral service is scheduled to take place in Balıkesir, Burhaniye, following the afternoon prayer on August 15, 2026.
