Egedal Municipality selects Gråkjær for new 110 million DKK multi-arena

Egedal Municipality has awarded the contract for a new multi-arena in Ølstykke to Gråkjær Erhverv A/S. The project, valued at 110 million DKK, is expected to be completed in 2028.

The approximately 4,500-square-meter facility will serve as the new home for the elite handball club HØJ Elite. The arena is designed to accommodate 1,700 spectators, with capacity increasing to 2,000 for concerts and larger events. The design features fixed stands on all four sides to bring spectators closer to the action.

In addition to sports facilities, the arena will include a fitness center, café area, production kitchen, meeting facilities, offices, and training rooms. The project aims to create a community hub for both elite and grassroots sports, as well as cultural activities. The site will also feature outdoor areas with terraces for social gatherings and activities such as cycling and skating.
