Eger public catering contract expected to save city 491 million forints
The city of Eger has reached a significant milestone in its public catering procurement process. The current provider, Eatrend Kft., submitted the only bid for the new contract.
Mayor Ákos Vágner reported that the annual net cost of the new bid is approximately 916.8 million forints. This represents a reduction of nearly 491 million forints compared to the current annual contract fee, which stands at approximately 1.4 billion forints. While the new contract covers a slightly narrower scope of institutions—as four kindergartens will return to a municipal management system—the mayor noted that the savings remain substantial.
The provider will be responsible for delivering over 6,000 meals daily across educational institutions, ranging from breakfast to dinner, including specialized dietary requirements.
