Eglė Šventoraitė reflects on basketball career and national team

Lithuanian basketball player Eglė Šventoraitė discussed her extensive career, her role as a mentor to younger players, and her experiences playing for numerous European clubs. Standing at 198 cm, the veteran center highlighted her recent triumph winning the EuroCup with the Turkish club Mersin CBK.

Reflecting on her nearly two decades with the Lithuanian national team, Šventoraitė expressed deep pride in representing her country. She noted that while she currently serves as a temporary captain, she views Laura Juškaitė as the official captain. She also reminisced about playing alongside legends of the sport, such as Sandra Linkevičienė, Eglė Šulčiūtė, and Rima Valentienė.

In addition to her professional milestones, including a third-place finish in the EuroLeague with Italy's Schio, Šventoraitė shared personal reflections on navigating cultural differences while playing abroad, specifically noting the significant adjustment period she experienced while living and playing in Turkey.
